As an entrepreneur and educationalist, I have come to realize that success in any venture is dependent on a variety of factors. One of the key elements that I believe is often overlooked is the importance of building strong and positive relationships with stakeholders. That’s why, in GIBS we focus on 4 P’s, the 4 P’s, which stands for Public Relation, People, Process & Progress, are critical to the success of any business.

Public Relation:

Public relations, or PR, is all about building and maintaining positive relationships with the various stakeholders of a business. These stakeholders could include customers, employees, investors, suppliers, and the general public. It is important to note that PR is not just about advertising or marketing; it involves communication, relationship building, and reputation management.

For any business, it is critical to have a positive image in the eyes of the public. In today’s hyper-connected world, any negative news or feedback can spread like wildfire on social media and can have a significant impact on a business’s reputation. Therefore, it is essential to have a well-thought-out PR strategy that includes proactive communication with stakeholders, crisis management plans, and regular monitoring of feedback and sentiment.

People:

The success of any business depends heavily on its people. This includes employees, management, and other stakeholders who are involved in the day-to-day operations of the business. It is essential to hire the right people, provide them with the necessary training and resources, and empower them to perform to the best of their abilities.

In my experience, the key to building a strong team is to create a culture of trust, transparency, and open communication. When employees feel that they are valued, listened to, and given opportunities to grow and learn, they are more likely to be engaged and motivated to perform well.

Process:

Processes refer to the series of steps and procedures that a business follows to achieve its objectives. It is important to have well-defined processes in place that are efficient, effective, and scalable. These processes could include everything from product development and customer service to financial management and marketing.

When processes are well-designed and executed, they help to ensure consistency and quality in the products and services that a business offers. This, in turn, helps to build a strong reputation for the business and creates a positive experience for customers.

Progress:

The final P is progress. In my view, progress refers to the continuous improvement and growth of a business. It involves setting goals, tracking performance, and making adjustments as needed to stay on track.

To ensure progress, it is important to have a clear understanding of the business’s objectives and to regularly evaluate its performance against these objectives. This could involve analyzing financial statements, customer feedback, and other metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Conclusion:

In summary, the 4 P’s– Public Relation, People, Process & Progress – are critical to the success of any business. It’s also included in GIBS Business School.  Building positive relationships with stakeholders, hiring and empowering the right people, having well-defined and efficient processes, and focusing on continuous improvement are all essential elements of a successful business strategy. As a motivational speaker, educationalist and entrepreneur, I often talk about the importance of these 4 P’s and how they can be applied to a variety of industries and business models. By keeping these principles in mind, entrepreneurs and business leaders can create a solid foundation for success and achieve their goals over the long term.
